German Cockroach

German Cockroach Management Services

At Dixie Exterminators, we specialize in providing German cockroach management services. When it comes to this particular species, we understand their behavior and habits. German cockroaches are commonly found near sources of food, water, and warmth, especially the small nymphs. The larger adults, both males and females, can range more widely within infested buildings. However, once the females have formed an egg capsule, they tend to stay close to their harborage, venturing out only minimally, if at all, except for water.

Advanced Two-Step Approach: Effective Cockroach Treatment with Residual and Non-Residual Insecticides

In our treatments, we often combine the use of residual and non-residual insecticides. This two-step approach, known as a clean-out, involves applying a non-residual insecticide immediately after a residual insecticide application. This combination provides a higher level of initial control.

For quick knockdown action and flushing out the roaches, we may use non-residual insecticides in aerosol or ultra-low volume applications. These can be applied separately or added to residual sprays. However, we always exercise caution when treating areas near dishes, glassware, or cooking utensils. Before applying any insecticide, we require removal of these items from the treatment area and cover them with clean cloth materials to prevent contamination.

Comprehensive Inspections for
German Cockroaches

During our inspections for German cockroaches, we prioritize thoroughness. We meticulously check various areas, such as cracks and crevices within construction elements, table tops, sinks, cabinets, refrigerators, soft drink dispensing machines, kitchen equipment, switch boxes, fuse boxes, cafeteria counters, soda fountains, food carts, cash registers, telephones, meat counters, checkout stands, and other locations where favorable conditions exist. Since the specific harborage spots can vary depending on the infested premises, our experienced professionals use their judgment and expertise to identify all hiding places.

Optimal Residual Application for
German Cockroach Control

Dusting is another highly effective method of applying residual insecticides for German cockroach control. When applied in dry areas, dusts generally provide longer-lasting results compared to sprays. We use hand dusters to apply dust to cracks, crevices, wall voids, and cabinet voids. For larger voids like attics or crawl spaces, we utilize power dusters or plunger dusters.
