Warm Season Program (Bermuda and Zoysia)


Round 1 (January - March) Application includes Pre-Emergent and Post-Emergent weed controls to aid in the prevention of Broadleaf weeds and Annual Crabgrass.
· In addition we apply high Potassium Fertilizer for root development.
· Four types of Grassy and Broadleaf weed controls are applied as needed.

Round 2 (March - April) Application of a high nitrogen fertilizer will help insure a quicker green – up.
· Application of a light potassium fertilization to enhance the root structure
· Pre and Post Emergent weed controls will be applied on this application.
· Four types of Grassy and Broadleaf weed controls are applied as needed.

Round 3 (May - June) With the onset of warmer temperatures we will apply a granular controlled release fertilizer to enhance the color of your lawn.
· Four types of Grassy and Broadleaf weed controls are also applied as needed.

Round 4 (June - July) · To help all warm season lawns maintain their color and growth, we will apply a granular controlled release fertilizer.
· Four types of Grassy and Broadleaf weed controls are applied as needed and as temperatures allow.
· Proper Mowing heights will reduce weeds and improve density of turf. Increase mowing heights as temperatures rise.
· During this time of year proper watering is the key to maintaining a green healthy lawn. Your lawn must receive a MINIMUM OF 1 INCH OF WATER PER WEEK from irrigation, rainfall or combination of the two.

Round 5 (September - October) · Heading into the end of summer, Dixie Green applies a granular controlled release fertilizer mixed to maintain the color and feed the roots of your turf.
· Application of Pre-Emergent weed controls to aid in the prevention of winter annual weeds and grassy weeds from germinating in the spring.
· Four types of Grassy and Broadleaf weed controls are applied as needed and as temperatures allow.
· If temperatures are high keep your mowing height high.

Round 6 (October - November) · This application consists of Pre-Emergent and Post-Emergent weed controls to aid in the prevention of winter and spring annual weeds; and Post-Emergent weed control to eliminate Broadleaf weeds.

Round 7 (November - December) · This application consists of calcium and magnesium to maintain the PH balance of your soil. This application helps restore the neutral condition of your soil so your grass will grow better next spring.
· Four types of Grassy and Broadleaf weed controls are applied as needed.
· Application of Pre-Emergent to prevent various fall and winter weeds.
· Application of Potassium fertilizer to enhance the root structure so your grass grows stronger and thicker for Centipede Grass.

Cool Season Program (Fescue)


Round 1 (January - March)· Dixie Green’s application consists of a high nitrogen fertilizer as well as both Pre-Emergent and Post-Emergent weed controls.
· This treatment will enhance the color of your Fescue grass and aid in the prevention and control of Broadleaf weeds and Annual Crabgrass.

Round 2 (March - April) · This application provides your Fescue with the fertilizer and nutrients necessary to stay green and healthy.
· Also, a second treatment of Pre- and Post- Emergent weed controls to help protect Fescue from summer annual weeds.

Round 3 (May - June) · As temperatures rise, so do the possibilities of summer stress and fungus attacks. At this time we apply a liquid application of iron and micronutrients. This helps to keep your Fescue lawn healthy into early summer, without building up excess nitrogen which can lead to Brown Patch Fungus.
· Four types of Grassy and Broadleaf weed controls are applied as needed.

Round 4 (June - July) · This application consists of calcium and magnesium to maintain the PH balance of your soil. This application helps restore the neutral condition of your soil so your grass will grow better next spring.
· A herbicide treatment may be needed.
· Four types of Grassy and Broadleaf weed controls are applied as needed.
· This treatment will help to prepare your Fescue grass for core aeration and overseeding.
· June/July is the most difficult time of year to maintain Fescue Grass due to summer related stress. Drought stress along with improper watering and mowing practices can cause damage to the turf. This is the time of year that additional fungicide application might be necessary to combat Brown Patch Fungus.

Round 5 (September - October) · Dixie Green’s application of balanced fertilizer will help your established Fescue grass to repair itself from damage caused by Summer Stress.
· Weed controls can be damaging to young, newly germinated Fescue or to established Fescue suffering from Summer Stress. For these reasons, weed controls will not be used on turf that would be damaged by them.

Round 6 (October - November) · This application consists of a high rate of fertilizer which will provide the nutrients needed by the developing new grass to mature over the winter.
· The fertilizer will help established Fescue to recover from Summer Stress.
· Weed Controls are used as needed on turf that is mature and healthy.

Round 7 (November - December) · This application consists of a high rate of fertilizer which provides the nutrients needed by the developing new grass to mature over the winter.
· Fertilizer helps established Fescue recover from the stresses of summer.
· Weed controls are used as needed on turf that is mature and healthy.

Ornamental Tree and Shrub Program


All Services Depend on Weather and Temperatures
Round 1 (January - February)
· Horticultural Oil: 2% rate to control insect eggs before damage can occur.
· A Broad Spectrum Insecticide may be added to control immature larvae.
Round 2 (March - April)
· A Broad Spectrum Insecticide and Fungicide to control Early Season Pest and Fungus.
· A foliar fertilizer is applied for spring color. This application is great for acid loving plants.
Round 3 (May - June)
· A Broad Spectrum Insecticide, Miticide and Fungicide to control Pest and Fungus. This will insure plants are proactively protected against Japanese beetles, lace bugs and aphids and diseases like powdery mildew and leaf spot.
Round 4 (July - August)
· A Broad Spectrum Insecticide to control lace bugs, aphids, caterpillars and Japanese beetles, and a Miticide for Spidermites.
· A fungicide is applied to control diseases like powdery mildew and leaf spot.
Round 5 (September - October)
· A Broad Spectrum Insecticide and Disease controls for late season pests.
· Fall Webworms and Oak Leaf Caterpillars may be controlled.
· Powdery mildew treatment if necessary at this time.
Round 6 (November - December)
. Fall granular fertilizer feeding to promote root growth. These nutrients will still be in the soil in the spring when new growth begins
